Borno State Acting Governor, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur has received delegations from the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and Borno State University (BOSU) led the Vice Chancellors of the institutions, who were on a courtesy visit at the Government House Maiduguri.
Receiving the august visitors, the Acting Governor thanked the managements of University of Maiduguri and that of the Borno State University for the Sallah homage to the Government House Maiduguri.
“I want to, on behalf of His Excellency, the executive governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, welcome you to Government House Borno state for the Sallah visit,” Kadafur said.

Kadafur further urged the institutions to start looking inwards especially now that the state is in the recovery process, emerging from a decade-long insurgency, stating that, there is the need for the institutions to create entrepreneurship programmes and courses for the teeming youths that didn’t have access to education because of the deadly mayhem of the recent pass.
He described Prof Babagana Zulum as “educationally friendly” and will not relent in supporting the institutions, adding that in just first year of their second tenure, over 232 developmental projects were recorded in the state.
In their separate messages, the acting Vice Chancellors of University of Maiduguri, Professor Mamman Mele and that of Borno State University, Professor Haruna Dlakwa appreciated Governor Zulum for the massive support to the institutions and assured of their continued cordial working relationships with the state government while pledging to improve their community services to the state.
Present at the visit are Senator representing Borno North senatorial District, MT Monguno, member representing Marte, Monguno and Ngazai federal constituency engineer Bukar Talba, Secretary to the Borno State Government, Hon. Bukar Tijjani, APC state party chairman Hon. Bello Ayuba,former deputy governors,members of the state assembly and members of the state executive council among other top officials.
