Shija condemns latest attacks on Benue communities

Leading aspirant on the ticket of the APC for the 2023 governorship of Benue State Prof. Terhemba Shija has raised his voice against the spate of attacks being unleashed by armed bandits and other criminal elements on settlements in Benue State.

Prof. Shija spoke through his spokesman Samuel Adzegeh in the wake of latest attacks on the people of Edumoga in Okpokwu local government of the state which claimed several lives.

He lamented the seemingly helpless disposition of law enforcement agencies to protect the peace loving people of the State and called on both the State and Federal governments to be alive to their primary responsibility which is the protection of lives and property.

The aspirant regretted that the attacks had occurred when the people were in the middle of celebrating their hard earned Democracy Day and appealed to them to always be more security conscious, especially during festive periods.

Prof. Shija prayed God to grant eternal rest to the deceased and fortitude to bear the losses to their loved ones.

Prof. Shija has been in the vanguard of condemnation of the insecurity in Benue State and the entire federation.
