Sokoto Market Fire Victims To Get FG Intervention Soon…NEMA

As traders whose sources of livelihood were affected by the recent fire outbreak that destroyed more than half of the Sokoto Central Market continue to count their losses, the federal government have assured of giving them some succur soon. 
Making this disclosure while on an assessment tour of the burnt market, Mr Ajayi Oluwatope, the Assistant Chief, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Department of NEMA added that the intervention materials have started arriving their Sokoto’s storehouse.

Recall that over 9600 representing 60 percent of the 16000 shops in the Shehu Shagari Central market, Sokoto were completely razed down last week.
Ajayi who hinted that their coming was a follow up directive from the Presidency added that the degree of loss incurred as a result of the fire would have a severe devastating effeft on the economy of the state.

Speaking further, Ajayi, the NEMA Assistant Chief, Rehabilitation and Resettlement noted that they will be working in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders and committees easier set up by the state government towards obtaining accurate data of those whose shops were razed down. 
Ajayi further assured that NEMA is going to work with the state SEMA and all other relevant committees set up by the state government towards obtaining accurate data of those traders affacted by the fire incident.

Reacting to the assement visit by NEMA, Hon. Zubairu Magaji Albadau, the Special Adviser to Sokoto state government on State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, and all well meaning Nigerians who have come to commiserate with them in this trying times of the state.
