Leaders of Southern Kaduna have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for their efforts at mitigating insecurity, while urging the federal and state governments to intensify actions aimed at ending banditry and securing the release of abducted persons.
Speaking at a press conference held on Thursday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Kaduna, the National President of the Southern Kaduna people, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, expressed appreciation for Governor Uba Sani’s recent visit to Kurmin Wali community in Kajuru Local Government Area, following the attack by bandits on January 18, 2026.
Engr. Kato described the governor’s visit as historic, noting that it was the first time a sitting governor visited the community to personally commiserate with residents after an attack.
He recalled that during the visit, Governor Uba Sani directed the Commissioner for Works to urgently address the poor state of the access road and assured the community of the provision of a hospital, improved security presence and other critical infrastructure.
The Southern Kaduna leader also applauded the “untiring and concerted efforts” of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in deploying security mechanisms to protect lives and property since assuming office, acknowledging that while challenges remain, such difficulties are not uncommon in addressing complex security problems.
He urged both levels of government to sustain and intensify efforts towards the safe release of kidnapped victims and to carry out a total crackdown on the activities of armed bandits and kidnappers across Kaduna State and the country at large.
Engr. Kato further expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for what he described as ongoing developmental strides across the country, drawing special attention to the recent appointment of retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa as Minister of Defence.
According to him, Southern Kaduna people have also taken note of growing calls by Nigerians across different divides for the consideration of Gen. Musa as a future vice-presidential running mate to President Tinubu, describing the sentiment as commendable and worthy of support.
“In this regard, the entire Southern Kaduna people appreciate this gesture by Nigerians and happily embrace it. With humility, we support the project and pray for its success,” he said.
He concluded by reaffirming the unwavering support of Southern Kaduna people for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, pledging continued cooperation in support of their policies and programmes.
