Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Tosin Adeola Ajayi, briefing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the security situation on Friday night.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a late-night meeting with the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, as part of his intensified review of the nation’s worsening security situation.
A photograph released by the Presidency on Friday night confirmed the closed-door session at the State House, where Ajayi briefed the President on unfolding developments across the country.
The meeting comes at a tense moment for Nigeria, following a string of violent incidents — including two separate school abductions and a deadly church attack in the North — events that have forced the Federal Government to order the temporary shutdown of unity schools nationwide.
Tinubu’s engagement with the DSS chief also follows his decision to forgo the G20 Summit in South Africa.
The President opted to remain in Nigeria in the wake of the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi and Niger States, and the assault on worshippers in Kwara, choosing instead to focus on coordinating the nation’s security response.
The Presidency has not released further details of the briefing, but the meeting underscores what officials describe as the President’s “round-the-clock” attention to national security concerns.
