President Bola Tinubu
By BARBARA KALU, Port-Harcourt –
The Enforcers of Good Governance (EGG), a socio-political advocacy group, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to lift the state of emergency in Rivers State.
The group believes this move would be a fitting tribute to Nigerians on June 12 Democracy Day.
Dr. Kingsley Ogu, National Convener of EGG, stated, “We believe that lifting the state of emergency would be a symbolic and practical gift to Nigerians in commemoration of June 12 — our Democracy Day.”
The group has expressed unwavering support for President Tinubu’s leadership and policies.
Ogu noted that the president’s intervention in the Rivers State political crisis has helped restore calm and paved the way for lasting peace.
“We express deep appreciation to Mr. President for his timely and statesmanlike intervention,” he said.
The group has resolved to support Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and plans to launch a nationwide door-to-door sensitization campaign to galvanize grassroots support.
“Our goal is to bring the message of good governance and national unity directly to the people, one household at a time,” Ogu explained.
