Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage has launched her highly anticipated fourth studio album, _This One Is Personal_, marking her first full-length release in five years.
The 15-track project, released on Friday across digital music platforms, delves into themes of love, loss, resilience, and self-reflection, wrapped in captivating melodies.
The album features tracks such as “I’m Done,” “Angel Dust,” “You4Me,” “On the Low” with Skepta, “Holding It Down,” “10%,” “Twisted,” “Scared of Love,” “Pray No More,” “Addicted” featuring Taves, “This One Is Personal (Interlude),” “Will I Run Again?,” “For One Night,” “You’re Not the First,” and “Change” featuring James Fauntleroy.
With only three guest artists—Skepta, Taves, and James Fauntleroy—the album remains deeply personal, with collaborators chosen to enhance Savage’s vision without overshadowing her voice.
In a post on her X account, the self-proclaimed “Number One Africa Bad Girl” shared that the album was recorded in studios across Nashville, London, San Francisco, and Lagos.
“This project is so close to my heart, and I poured every part of me into it,” she wrote.
“I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with. Please cherish it, because This One Is Personal.”
Savage further elaborated during a Fan Q&A session on X, explaining her deliberate choice of collaborators:
“The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”
The Queen of Afrobeats described the album as a reflection of her journey over the past five years, navigating career shifts, motherhood, and personal growth.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited. I wanted you all to feel me in every song,” she emphasized.
Since her last full studio album in 2020, Savage’s latest work reaffirms her ability to connect with listeners through authentic storytelling and soulful artistry.
