Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) under the Joint Task Force North East have scored another significant victory in the fight against terrorism in Borno State.
In a statement released on Monday, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, said that on 9 November 2025, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, operating under Sector 2 of OPHK, engaged Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists at Dutse Kura.

“The encounter came after intelligence revealed that the insurgents were abducting civilians and seizing vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.
“The troops successfully foiled the attack, pursued the terrorists toward Mangari, and overpowered them in a subsequent encounter near their camp, forcing them to flee in disarray,” the statement read.
During the operation, soldiers discovered 11 makeshift terrorists’ structures and rescued 86 abducted civilians, including men, women, and children.
Recovered items included:

1 AK-47 rifle and 5 magazines with 73 rounds
4 PKT ammunition belts
5 civilian vehicles, 5 motorcycles, 8 bicycles, and 2 logistics tricycles.

The terrorists’ camp was destroyed following clearance operations.

In a related action at Mangada, troops arrested 29 logistics suppliers on their way to Chilaria, seizing:
2 pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with Premium Motor Spirit
About 1,000 litres of petrol in jerricans
4 gallons of engine oil
2 new gun truck tyres
Large quantities of medical supplies, foodstuffs, and provisions
“All operations were conducted successfully with no casualties on our side,” the statement emphasized.
The Military High Command commended the bravery and professionalism of the troops and urged Operation HADIN KAI to continue denying terrorists freedom of movement across the North East.
