Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reiterated his commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence and inclusive governance as he attended the 2025 Christmas Carol organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government.
The event, which held at the Umaru Yar’Adua Conference Centre, brought together various Christian denominations across the state, with prayers and songs rendered by different choirs.
The governor’s presence at the carol fulfilled a pledge he made in 2024 when he attended the Kaduna Unity Christmas Carol at the ECWA Goodnews Church, Narayi High Cost, where he promised to participate in subsequent editions throughout his tenure.

Speaking at the event on Sunday, Governor Uba Sani said it was the third time he was sharing “this sacred moment with the Christian family in our dear state,” noting that each occasion reinforced his belief that faith remains a powerful bridge for unity, healing and collective progress.
He described Christmas as more than a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, but a season that reflects love, sacrifice, humility, compassion and selfless service.
According to him, these values transcend religious boundaries and speak to the shared humanity of all citizens.
“Christmas challenges us not merely to rejoice, but to live differently; to become better neighbours, fairer leaders and more compassionate citizens,” the governor said.
Uba Sani explained that his attendance at the carol was driven by choice, conviction and commitment, stressing that such gatherings renew hope and reconnect society to enduring values that bind people together.
He commended religious leaders and Christian faithful in Kaduna State for their prayers, counsel and commitment to peace, noting that their restraint and preference for dialogue over division had contributed significantly to stability in the state.
“In moments of tension and uncertainty, you chose unity over suspicion and peace over provocation. These choices are shaping a more hopeful present and laying the foundation for a more secure and harmonious future,” he said.
The governor added that hosting the Christmas Carol symbolised openness, inclusion and progress, describing Kaduna as a state where faith builds bridges, diversity drives development and unity guarantees a shared future.
Recalling his inauguration on May 29, 2023, Uba Sani said he had made a vow to govern Kaduna State without fear or favour, irrespective of faith, ethnicity or political affiliation, assuring that the commitment to fairness, justice, equity and inclusive governance remained unbroken.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements in two and a half years, the governor said 85 roads covering 785 kilometres had been completed or substantially advanced in the first phase of the road infrastructure programme, while over 50 additional roads and bridges spanning more than 550 kilometres were launched in the second phase.
He disclosed that before his administration, 12 local government areas had no single kilometre of motorable road for over a decade, adding that at least 18 local government areas are now connected by modern roads, with ongoing efforts to reach all 23 councils.
In the health sector, the governor said 255 Primary Health Care Centres had been upgraded to Level Two status, the highest achieved by any state in the country, improving access to quality healthcare and enhancing maternal and child health outcomes.
He also announced the commissioning of a 300-bed specialist hospital named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a landmark achievement in the sector.
On agriculture, Uba Sani said the sector, which contributes over 42 per cent to Kaduna State’s Gross Domestic Product, now enjoys one of the highest budgetary allocations in the state’s history.
He noted that agricultural funding rose from less than one per cent in 2023 to over 10 per cent in the last two years, with a further increase to about 12 per cent in the 2026 budget, surpassing the Malabo Declaration benchmark.
The governor thanked President Tinubu for selecting Kaduna State as the pilot for the Nigeria–China Poultry Project, describing the choice as a vote of confidence in the state’s stability, capacity and leadership.
