The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Wednesday said it has uncovered a plot by some hoodlums planning to carry out imminent cult clashes and kidnapping in the university’s community.
UNICAL’s Registrar, Gabriel Egbe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Calabar.
Egbe said the perceived kidnapping incidents will be carried out by militants and their targets would be residents and lecturers and some identified students.
He however assured staff and students of the university’s community that the management will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the University Internal security are made to work closely with other security agencies.
The Registrar, further, urged the students to go about their legitimate activities without fear of molestation.
