Usman Sule takes over as AIG Zone 6 Headquarters Calabar

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Usman Sule Gomna, psc.

PATRICK ABANG Calabar –

A new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Usman Sule Gomna, psc. has taken over Zone 6 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

AIG Gomna succeeded the outgoing AIG Zaki M. Ahmed.

He hails from Chanchanga Local Government Area of Niger State.

He was appointed into the force in 1988 as one of the pioneer Cadet Assistant Superintendent of the then Police Academy Annex Kaduna.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the renowned Bayero University, Kano.

The AIG has before posting to the zone held several command and staff appointments including: Area Commander Kafanchan, Kaduna State; Area Commander Kontagora, Niger State; Assistant Commissioner of Police SCID in Taraba State; Assistant Commissioner of Police SCID, Niger State. Deputy Commissioner of Police Welfare, Force Headquarters, Abuja; Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, Taraba State Command; Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations Zone 5 Benin; Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarter, Abuja; and Commissioner of Police Jigawa State Command.

The AIG has equally attended numerous professional courses, missions and conferences including:- United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR)

The twenty-ninth AIG, however, enjoined the peace loving people of the zone comprising Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to remain law abiding and cooperate with the police in the area of information sharing to enable the zone provide adequate security for the citizens to go about their lawful business.
