Vena Ikem emerges as Cross River State’s PDP Chairman

The former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vena Ikem has emerged the Cross River State’s Chairman of the party.

Chairman of the PDP Congress Committee and member of the National Executive Committee Bar. Oke Muo Aro, declared Vena Ikem as the winner of state’s party chaiman at Boulevard event center Calabar.

Bar. Aro who led the five man convention Committee to Cross River State’s capital, thanked PDP leaders for making the exercise a hitch free through concensus.

In his remarks the former Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Bar. Effiok Cobhom said the party would rest until they get to government house.

The former deputy governor said the party was denied all public space to hold the state congress.

He disclosed that Governor Ben Ayade committed a great error of judgement by defecting to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

He said the ordeal the party pass through in getting a venue is the consequences of being in opposition.

He urged the supporters to work hard so as to get back to government house.

Present at the convention were the former Governor Liyel Imoke, Senator Gershoim Bassey, Senator Sandy Onoh, Senator Jarigbe Agom among other PDP chieftain in the State.
