
Some of the food Items distributed to the IDPs in Yobe

A humanitarian group, known as The Victims Support Fund (VSF) on Friday launched the distribution of food items to victims of boko Haram insurgency in Yobe State.
The Chairman of VSF, General Theophilus Y Danjuma (retired), who was represented by the Executive Director of VSF, Professor Nana Tanko while flagging up the distribution, said the distribution was in continuation of the implementation process of the VSF in supporting the victims of Boko Haram insurgency.
Professor Tanko added that the fund has approved the support of the distribution of food items to 8,621 households who were recently affected by the Insurgency as displaced victims of the terrorists attacks in Yobe State.
According to her: “Approximately, 60,347 individuals would be benefiting from this intervention, the beneficiaries are households affected by the insurgency and in dire need of food assistance”.
“They are currently living as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in formal and informal camps as well as in the host communities in Geidam, Tarmuwa, Damaturu, Gashua and Yunusari Local Government Areas of Yobe State”, she said .
