
The newly commissioned state of the art fashion hub in Makurdi

The Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday commissioned a fashion hub and the Benue Printing and Publishing Company (BPPC), publishers of the Voice newspaper.
Performing the ceremony in Makurdi at the premises of the fashion hub, the Vice President who appreciated the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia for performing his role by providing the edifice said the federal government would continue to provide the necessary environment to encourage Nigerians to involve themselves in what would add value to the society.
The Vice President, who was represented by Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, expressed joy over the state government strong partnership with the federal government and promised that the federal government would continue to improve the economic situation in the country.
Shettima assured that the federal government would also intervene in other areas as he informed that the fashion hub was only one of the areas of intervention by the federal government.
The vice president, who disclosed that the facility was the biggest in the country and has the global standard assured that the federal government would provide more machines so as to accommodate more people.
Governor Alia in his speech, appreciated the Vice President for the show of commitment and love on the people of the state, saying his promise of a fashion hub about six months ago has become a reality.
He informed that the project would have a lot of impact on the Benue people, adding that the world is dynamic and and Benue State could not be left behind.
Alia noted that that there were lots of talents and his desire was to put the state on the part of prosperity, insisting that the fashion hub would serve as a catalyst for development not just for Benue State but Nigeria at large.
In his comment, the Minister of Water Resources, Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev, appreciated the President Bola Tinubu led federal government for fulfilling his campaign promises and commended Governor Alia for his tireless work in actualizing the project.
Prof. Utsev encouraged the Benue people to utilize the project which according to him would also create jobs for the people of the state.
Also speaking, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Mrs. Doris Uzoka Aniti who described Governor Alia as a visionary leader, said the project would achieve economic goal and assured that the federal government through her ministry would continue to support the government and people of the state.
Mr. Tola Adekunle Johnson while commenting insisted that governance was when leaders deliver to the people what would help them, expressed the belief that Governor Alia would do more for the benefit of the state.
The Benue State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Manasseh Alumo Orpin while delivering his vote of thanks appreciated President Tinubu and his Vice for their support to the state and insisted that Governor Alia was desirous to provide the needs of the people of the state.
