FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike-supported faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Muhammed Abdulrahman, has announced emergency meetings of its National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) for Tuesday.
A notice released on Monday by the suspended National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, stated that the meetings will take place at the NEC Hall of the PDP national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The BoT session is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., followed by the NEC meeting at 2 p.m.
This development comes in the wake of the Damagum-led NEC conducting an elective national convention on Saturday, during which Anyanwu, Wike, and other key figures were suspended.
Tensions within the party have escalated in recent days, with the PDP secretariat reportedly locked down as rival factions within the National Working Committee (NWC) continue to jostle for control.
The emergency meetings are seen as a strategic move by the Wike-aligned faction to assert influence and respond to recent suspensions and leadership disputes within the party.
