YPP wins Nnewi South/South Ikwusigo rerun election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Mr Peter Uzokwe of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), as the winner of the rerun election for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra.

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Charles Nweke, said that Uzokwe polled 25,518 votes to defeat the Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Mr Uchenna Elodimuo, who scored 25,412 votes.
Elodimuo lost his seat to the YPP candidate Uzokwe.

Recall that the rerun election was scheduled by INEC after a court of competent jurisdiction ordered a rerun to determine the actual winner of the election.
