Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his untiring concern and support to the people of Borno, just as he had visited the state twice in 6 months to commission developmental projects
President Buhari had on Thursday paid a one day visit to Maiduguri to commission Alh. Mohammed Idimi Private Airport Hanger at Maiduguri International Airport , Tijani Bolori Memorial Secondary School, multi billion naira Custom Roundabout Flyover and Mohammed Idimi Center for Distance Learning, University of Maiduguri in Maiduguri despite the ISWAP explosives threat at Gomari Airport Pompomari Ayafe area of the metropolis which claimed the life of a girl and left four other residents injured.
The president during his visit hammered on insecurity across the country, peace building and conflict resolution.
While Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State in his remarks pledged continuous support, loyalty and appreciation of Borno people and his government to the president and federal government respectively to restore peace and tranquility in the state and north east at large.
The governor also commended Mr. President for his untiring concern and support to the people of Borno, especially, the IDPs and the return to their ancestral homes, which is in accordance with the international laws and Belgium Convention.
He noted that majority of the IDPs have already been resettled and provided with livelihoods support while access to their large scale farmlands have also been cultivated with the assistance and cooperation of the military as well as contributions of the CJTF and vigilante hunters including Agro Rangers.
Zulum thanked Mr. President and the Business Mogul , Alhaji Mohammed Idimi for their support to the people of Borno and his government as well the military for their sacrifices and bravery in providing security at all the nooks and crannies of the state.
He alos commended the various NGOs in the state, which he described as paramount and not only unique but important to the 10 year strategic transformation agenda of the state government as part of the post Insurgency rebuilding process.
He further assured that his government will not relent on its efforts in providing basic infrastructures and livelihoods support to the afflicted and already traumatized citizens of the state who have been exposed to severe hardships and sufferings as a result of the Insurgency.
