Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his one day state working visit to Borno and efforts in repatriating and resettling Nigerian refugees abroad as Chairman Federal Government Resettlement Committee (FGRC).
He also appreciated the VP for announcing a Federal Government’s plan to support Borno within few months, with a model that will help ongoing concerted efforts in stimulating Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) across Borno State.
Zulum in a statement on Friday, further, thanked his entourage and everyone who played critical roles in the success of yesterday’s visit.
The statement read in quote: ” Thank You, Mr VP; Thank You the People of Borno State. Fellow citizens of Borno state. Good morning to you all.”
“I want to start by conveying my deepest gratitude to all of you, especially everyone living in Maiduguri who may have been affected by yesterday’s traffic restrictions as part of Presidential security routines.
“I know people were affected in different ways, I feel the pains and I say sorry. But I assure you that your pains were not in vain.
“The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, announced a Federal Government’s plan to support Borno, and within few months, with a model that will help our ongoing concerted efforts to stimulate micro, small and medium enterprises across Borno State.
“The Vice President, as Chairman of a Presidential resettlement Committee, was at an IDP camp in Maiduguri yesterday, and he said himself, that he saw the condition under which our fellow citizens live in camps.
“His visit will no doubt influence the ways he will lead the Presidential resettlement Committee to positively impact on our people.
“Most importantly, the Vice President’s visit, afforded him another opportunity to interact with our security heads over the challenges amid our emerging peace.
“I am sure the VP’s interaction which should inform his contributions at Presidential engagements, will be of benefit to Borno. I pray that benefits come to Borno as end product of the Vice President’s visit.
“I thank the Vice President, his entourage and everyone who played roles in the success of yesterday’s visit, especially those who helped and still helping to support our traders in micro, small and medium businesses. Thank you, everyone.”
