Zulum swears in new SSG, 3 SAs, Perm Sec

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum on Friday sworn in the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Bukar Tijani, 3 Special Advisers and one Permanent Secretary at the International Conference Hall of Usman Musa Secretariat Maiduguri.

He said the appointment of the SSG as a technocrat, experienced administrator, a man of integrity, managerial prowess, competent , commitment and hardworking fellow with proven integrity informed his decision to appoint him to assist in his administration.

Zulum further directed that all correspondences and files from the ministries and parastatals should pass through the office of the SSG.

He also directed all the Permanent Secretaries and all chairmen of boards and agencies to liaise with the office of the SSG and establish a synergy towards actualising the state government’s 25 years framework work and 10 years strategic transformation plan.

He also assured that all ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation works at the state secretariat will soon be completed in order to provide an enabling and conducive working environment for the civil servants to work diligently.

The governor further reiterated the immediate implementation of the new civil service reform where all workers henceforth will undergo test , interviews and exams before getting promotion at work including the Permanent Secretaries and directors.

Earlier, The Borno.State Chief Judge (SCJ), Justice Kashim Zanna administered the oaths of office and allegiance to the SSG, SAs and Permanent Secretary.

The Special Advisers are Hon. Ahmed Sanda, Engr. Baba Gujbawu and Engr. Ibrahim Icris Garba while the Permanent Secretary is Hajiya Aishatu Ibrahim Abdulrahman.

In a vote of thanks, the Secretary of the State Government (SSG), Hon. Bukar Tijani appreciated the opportunity and privilege given to them , saying,” it is also difficult to refuse a call to national service . And it is based on this call and commitment the governor has given the spirit to accept.”

” To the restoration of peace, provision of security to lives and property as well as the zeal, commitment the governor has to develop Borno, return Borno to its lost lost glory and transform the state into a modern city that made him to accept to serve Borno people and government. To join the governor actualize his.dream to develop the state and bring back its lost glory as home of peace and gateway to share trade

He assured absolute support to the Borno State government and to serve the people of Borno to the best of ability.
