14 injured in Bauchi road accident – FRSC

The accident was caused by dangerous overtaking

The Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Bauchi State Sector Command, Yusuf Abdullahi, says 14 people have been injured in an accident involving three vehicles at Tashan Saleh along Bauchi-Toro-Jos highway.

He said the crash occurred at about 2.40pm on Tuesday, involving two commercial vehicles and a private vehicle.

Abdullahi said that the vehicles are: an Opel Vectra Saloon, ash in colour with registration number: AA421KRF; a Blue DAF trailer with registration number: GME 715XX and a red Mercedes Benz 190 with no registration number.

He said that there were 15 male adults involved in the crash with only one of them escaping with no injuries.

The remaining 14 male adults sustained bruises, deep cuts and fractures in the crash that was probably caused by dangerous overtaking.

He said that the injured victims have been taken to General Hospital Toro for medical treatment.
