39 science graduates get employment in Benue to boost science studies

As a deliberate measure to boost science studies in Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has offered employment to 39 graduates of Jerchira extraction who have studied science oriented programmes at various universities.

Governor Alia who spoke at St. Gabriel’s Parish Iorkighir, Tse-Agberagba, Konshisha Local Government Area, during a thanksgiving service organised by ‘Ityo i Jerchira’ which, comprises of Konshisha and Vandeikya LGAs informed that the 39 science graduates who were identified during the thanksgiving service would get employment with immediate effect.

Alia noted with confidence that those in other fields would as well get employment opportunities.

Speaking further, the Governor disclosed that his administration within 11 months in office has recorded remarkable achievements in the area of human capital development, socio-economic, infrastructure, agriculture, health, security sector, amongst others, assuring that the remaining salary arrears left by the previous government would be cleared together with pension and gratuities.

The Governor appealed to former governors in the state not to interfere in his administration if they do not have anything meaningful to contribute for the development of the state.

While commending the Benue people for standing behind him Governor Alia promised to deliver on his campaign promises and called for more support to enable him succeed.

The, Caretaker Committee Chairman, Konshisha Local Government, Philip Achua, who is also ALGON Chairman in the state while welcoming the guests said the people of Jechira Federal Constituency organised the event to thank God for giving Jerchira the position and to celebrate their son Governor,Alia, for making them proud by starting on a sound footing.

The Chairman assured the governor that Jerchira people were solidly behind him and would continue to support him to enable him deliver on his campaign promises to Benue people.

The Parish Priest, Saint Gabriel’s Parish, Iorkighir, Tse-Agberagba, Reverend Father, Timothy Igbudu, in his sermon, said the thanksgiving mass was to express appreciation to God for chosen the governor to rule the state at this time in history and to pray to God for blessing the entire Jerchira land with the gift of governor.

The cleric prayed God to grant the governor strength to succeed in his assignment and expressed appreciation to those who graced the thanksgiving mass.
