4 children of same parents die mysteriously within 24 hours in Nasarawa

Four children of same parents had died of strange illness in Gidinye, a community in Jenkwe development area of Obi LG in Nasarawa State.

The children died one after the other in less than 24-hours after complains of stomach aches, vomiting and purging on Monday, August 05 and Tuesday, August 06, 2024.

The overseer of Jenkwe development area, Hon Luka Ayele, confirmed the development to our correspondent on telephone in Lafia.

“Four children of same parents died instantly, while one is still in the hospital. We are yet to ascertain the root cause of their death, we are waiting for experts to do that” he said.

A community leader who also confirmed the unfortunate incident, said the children had left home to farm healthy, but they later died in the farm of a suspected food poisoning.

Reacting, the Publicity Secretary of the Migili Youth Association, MYA, Comrade Samuel Akala appealed to the Government and the relevant authorities to swiftly intervene in order to contain the outbreak and save human lives.

“The circumstances that resulted to sudden death of these children in Idah, Gidinye community on Tuesday, 6th August calls for forensic findings.
