2023: Sokoto Deputy Gov, Manir joins race to succeed Tambuwal

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Manir Dan’Iya, has formally joined the 2023 governorship race to succeed his boss, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Hon. Manir, whose declaration of interest is considered long over due by pundits, is said to be the fourth candidate that has indicated governorship interest in the PDP.

Confirming his readiness to continue with Governor Tambuwal’s legacies in a message via his Twitter account, Hon. Manir assured that his resolution to contest come 2023 followed due consolations with the people of the state.

“After due consultations and a node from His Excellency The Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, am happy to announce with utmost humility and Allah’s will, I formally declare my intention to run for the office of the Governor Sokoto State , on the platform of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Manir assured that if given the mandate, he would carry out a developmental oriented leadership as well as an inclusive government in the State.

“If given the mandate to fly PDP’s Sokoto governorship flag, I will consolidate on the achievements of my mentor Governor Tambuwal and dwell more on youth engagement and empowerment likewise, I will ensure a welfare oriented government as started by Governor Tambuwal”, he said .
