Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum alongside the immediate past givernor, Senator Kashim Shettima Modu have been screened successfully by the APC Screening Committee as aspirants in the forthcoming party primaries for governorship and senatorial positions.
Zulum, who is contesting election for the second term may be unopposed under the platform of the All Progressive Congress APC in the State because it seems Zulum is the only governorship aspirant that purchased expression of interest and nomination form for the said election so far.
The Governorship Screening Committee was headed by Senator Abubakar Sodangi and it was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Sunday.
After his screening, Governor Zulum accompanied his predecessor, Senator Kashim Shettima Modu among other politicians from Borno state to Treasure Hotel also in Abuja, where all he APC senatorial aspirants were being screened by a separate standing committee
Senator Kashim Shettima is also re-creating election for the Borno Central senatorial district for the second term and maybe unopposed as no APC aspirant purchased the said form yet. His screening exercise was also successfully carried out by the Senate Aspirants Committee of the APC ruling party.
