It was an excitement galore at the Calabar Golf Club over the weekend when over 200 golfers including professionals drawn the various golf clubs across the country took to the course in honour of the Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Calabar Golf Club, Mr Peter .K. Bello, who was commemorating his 70th birthday.
The big championship which covered 18 holes was a delight to watch as all the golfers threw everything into the game so as to come out with positive results
At the end of championship, up-coming golfers from Akwa-Ibom Golf Club ,Uyo, Edidiong Inyang emerged the Champion after scoring 70 nets.
In category one and two, Captain Uju returned a net score of 76 to emerge the champion while the immediate past Secretary of the Calabar Golf Club, Anietie Okon became the runner-up after scoring 74 net.
The 1st runner’s up winner was Usen Ubong,m who recorded 75 nets.
Category 4 male winner was Raymond Ovat, while Ayodele Dare and Godwin Udofia became runners-up and first runner winners respectively.
Patrick Iwara was a cynosure of all eyes when he outwitted all the big name in the super veterans category to covert home the top position after returning 75 nets.
Ben Berabi with 85 nets became the runner-up while Major Mike Otiwa (rtd) was third with a score of 86 nets .
In the ladies category, Enunice E. was the champion after scoring of 73 , Gladness Dan was the runners-up with nets score of 74. while Patience John was placed 3rd with 79 nets.
