
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has directed the committee for the implementation of the digital economy project in the state to ensure the establishment of Benue State Digital Infrastructural Development Company to serve as a special purpose vehicle for the implementation of his vision in ICT infrastructural business.
Governor Alia gave the directive during the formal inauguration of the committee to facilitate implementation of the digital economy project held at government house Makurdi.
He informed that the committee members were to serve as key drivers to the digital economy project.
Represented by his deputy, Sam Ode the Governor noted, that the company would generate revenue for the state, create more job opportunities and skills for the people, especially the teaming youths, connect the state to the digital world, establish and manage the state digital economic hub and as well ensure automation and digitization of all MDAs in the state.
Members of the implementation committee as revealed by the Governor include: his deputy, Sam Ode as Chairman, Paul Biam, Fidelis Mnyim, Dennis Akura, Alex Adingi, Kwaghgba Amande, Terwase Gbande and Livinus Tsav as members while Lawrence Ogwuche would serve as secretary.
Alia at the occasion also revealed that the state government has signed a memorandum of understanding with a private firm, Gamit Corporate Ltd to serve the state as consultant, with the mandate to carryout a joint feasibility survey for a successful implementation of the project.
