Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 44-year old civil servant, Charles Ogunyinka, before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly indecently touching his 3-year-old daughter’s private parts.
The incident reportedly occurred in January 2025 at the defendant’s residence, located at No. 13 Popoola Arandun Street, Abaranje, Ikotun, Lagos.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, the defendant’s wife had left their daughter with him and went out, only to return and find the victim crying.
Upon inquiry, the victim pointed to her private part and mentioned her father, leading to the defendant’s arrest.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of indecent touching of a minor, which contravenes Section 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Mrs. O. O. Kushanu granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until September 11 for mention.
