
Gombe State Police Command announced on Friday that two suspects were arrested for allegedly vandalizing infrastructure belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in Tumi village, Akko Local Government Area.
Command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the suspects, Musa Bappa (20) and Musa Usman (22), both residents of Zange village in Kumo, Akko LGA, were arrested by Akko Division surveillance operatives following credible intelligence.
“The suspects were found with 14 tower line channel irons believed to have been vandalised from TCN installations within the Gombe sub-region,” Abdullahi stated.
Abdullahi revealed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to conspiring with Ibrahim Jauro Barhama and another man known as Duna, both currently at large.
The vandalism occurred at Mararraban Tumi village, targeting TCN tower structures.
“We reaffirm the Command’s commitment to protecting critical infrastructure and warn against sabotage threatening public safety and economic stability,” Abdullahi said.
Related Incident in Bajoga
In a related incident, Abdullahi disclosed that three suspects were arrested in Bajoga, Funakaye LGA, for criminal conspiracy and motorcycle theft.
The stolen motorcycle was recovered, and investigations are ongoing.
