
All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of aspirants barred from participating in its forthcoming House of Representatives primaries in several states ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections.
The party announced the development on Saturday after concluding its screening exercise for aspirants seeking the APC ticket across various federal constituencies.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC explained that the screening committees evaluated aspirants in line with the party’s approved guidelines and procedures.
According to the statement, only aspirants who satisfied the stipulated requirements were cleared to proceed to the next stage of the primary election process.
Among the states affected by the disqualification are Ondo, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kogi and Rivers.
In Ondo State, the aspirants not cleared by the screening panel include Hon. Adefisoye Tajudeen, Olusegun Victor Ategbole, Seun Oluwashina Ajongbolo, Rt. Hon. Arowole Ayodeji Samuel, Morufu Tosin Ibrahim, Oseni Oyeniyi and Olaleye John Adedipe.
For Bauchi State, Dr. Bashir Ibrahim Bello was listed among those disqualified from the exercise.
In Ebonyi State, the screening committee did not clear Hon. Idu Igariwe, while Sanni Salau Ogembe was affected in Kogi State.
The APC also released the names of disqualified aspirants in Rivers State. They include Air Commodore John Azubuike Opara (Rtd), Hon. Anderson Allison Igbiki, Awaji Imombek D. Abirite and Hon. Boma Goodhead.
The party maintained that the screening exercise was conducted in accordance with its established procedures as preparations intensify for the National Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
