Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hyacinth Dajoh, expressed profound grief over the death of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a revered statesman who passed away at 78.
In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Zamber, Dajoh hailed Ogbeh as a true patriot and a distinguished leader whose selfless dedication to the progress of Benue and Nigeria leaves an enduring void.
Dajoh emphasized that Ogbeh, a two-time Minister of Agriculture, exemplified a life of service, unity, and commitment to his people.
“His legacy of integrity, patriotism, and diligence will forever inspire us,” Dajoh said, praying for eternal rest for Ogbeh’s soul and strength for his family and loved ones during this time of mourning.
Similarly, Country Director of the Agricultural Development for Economic Growth Initiative and former state coordinator for USAID’s Future Agricultural Extension Advisory Activities, Joseph Unogwu, shared his shock at Ogbeh’s passing. He noted that while Ogbeh’s admirers would find comfort in faith, his contributions to Nigeria were immense.
“As a two-time Minister of Agriculture, he performed admirably. His deep belief in Nigeria’s potential and his vision for our nation to stand tall globally will always be remembered,” Unogwu stated.
He extended condolences to Ogbeh’s family, the nation, and “the global community at large.”
CEO of Teryima Nigeria Ltd., an agricultural firm, Chief Vitalis Tarnongu, also paid tribute, describing Ogbeh’s agricultural innovations as timeless.
“His investments in the sector will continue to transform lives,” Tarnongu said, reflecting on their collaborative efforts to enhance food security in Benue and beyond.
“His wisdom and fatherly guidance were invaluable, and his absence will be deeply felt,” he added.
