Kano Governor, Abba Yusuf
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has terminated the appointments of two Senior Special Assistants, Abubakar Sharada and Tasiu Al’amin Roba, citing allegations of misconduct.
This is contained in a statement released on Saturday by Musa Tanko, the Press Secretary to the State Government.
Sharada, previously the Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, was accused of orchestrating the bail of a notorious drug baron, Sulaiman Danwawu.
Meanwhile, Roba, the Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was apprehended in 2024 for allegedly repackaging palliative grains intended for public distribution at a Sharada warehouse. Roba now faces charges of theft and criminal conspiracy.
Both aides have been instructed to return all government property in their possession, including official identity cards, by August 11, 2025.
The statement warned that Sharada and Roba are no longer authorized to act as representatives of the Kano State Government, adding, “The public is advised to avoid engaging with these former appointees on matters related to the state government at their own risk.”
In a separate development, the state government cleared Musa Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, of all allegations following a thorough investigation, confirming his innocence.
Governor Yusuf’s administration reiterated its commitment to transparency, discipline, and a zero-tolerance policy for corruption.
“All public officials are expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity in both their professional and personal conduct,” the statement emphasized.
