
Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Uwem Andrew-Essien has been conferred with the Paul Haris Fellow Award by Rotary Club in recognition of his humanitarian services.
The President, Rotary Club of Uyo, Sheltter Afrigue, Patricia Essien–Obot while decorating Andrew-Essien, said it was also a testament to his commitment to community development.
“The award is one of Rotary’s highest recognition in view of Pastor Andrew-Essien selfless service to humanity”, she said describing him as a role model, whose actions align with the core values of Rotary Club.
According to her, the accountant general’s dedication to service is beyond his official duties, noting that his impact has been felt across several humanitarian projects.
Responding, Uwem Andrew-Essien, thanked Rotary Club for the honour done him, saying the recognition was a great and motivation.
“I am sincerely grateful for this honour. This recognition has challenged me to do more, to expand my effort in touching lives and contributing meaningfully to humanity” he said.
Andrew-Essien further, reaffirmed his commitment in supporting initiatives that will improve the well-being of people, especially the under privileged.
Rotarians that accompanied Patricia Obot were Imabong Uwem Andrew-Essien, President Nominee, Lady Mae Edmonds Henrietta Inyang, Glory Effanga and Joel Archibong.
With the Accountant General to witness the decoration, were the Director Funds, Apostle Mfon Udomah, Head of Department, Consolidated Accounts, Mrs. Nseobong Affia, and the Head Banking and Revenue, Mrs. Iniobong Essien.
