Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that train services along the Warri-Itakpe route, which were briefly halted, will resume in the near future.
In a statement released on Friday in Lagos, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, explained the reason for the suspension.
“We temporarily paused operations to conduct essential track maintenance to ensure passenger safety, reliability, and comfort,” Unyimadu said.
He further shared that repairs on the affected sections are nearly complete.
“We are happy to report that the repair work is at an advanced stage, and normal train operations will restart as soon as possible,” he added.
Expressing gratitude to passengers, Unyimadu noted, “The NRC sincerely values the patience and support of our passengers during this service disruption.”
He reaffirmed the corporation’s dedication to delivering safe and dependable rail services nationwide.
Unyimadu assured that a follow-up announcement detailing the exact resumption date would be made soon.
