Hilda Baci cooks World Largest Pot of Jollof Rice
Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has showered praise on celebrity chef Hilda Baci for setting a new Guinness World Record by preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing an extraordinary 8,780 kilograms.
The achievement, accomplished in partnership with Gino on Friday at Victoria Island, Lagos, marks another milestone in Baci’s remarkable culinary journey.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, Sen. Tinubu celebrated Baci’s global impact, saying, “Your passion, resilience, and creativity in showcasing one of Nigeria’s most cherished dishes on the world stage are truly inspiring.

“This rare accomplishment has not only brought pride to our nation but has also earned you international recognition.”
She added, “Through your culinary artistry, you’ve shown what Nigerian women can achieve with hard work, determination, and innovation.
“I pray for even greater heights for you and other young Nigerians who dare to dream.”
Baci’s latest feat builds on her earlier success in May 2023, when she captivated the world by setting a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, enduring an impressive 93 hours and 11 minutes.
That cook-athon thrust her into the global spotlight, showcasing her endurance and deep connection to Nigerian cuisine. Now, her record-breaking jollof rice preparation has further elevated Nigeria’s culinary heritage, blending tradition with ambition to create a dish that symbolizes national pride.
Speaking to journalists, Baci reflected on the significance of her achievement, stating, “This record is about more than just food—it’s about celebrating Nigerian culture and showing the world what we’re capable of. I’m thrilled to inspire others through this journey.”
Her efforts, supported by Gino, required meticulous planning and a team effort, underscoring her ability to unite creativity and logistics on a grand scale.
NATIONAL ACCORD reports that the Guinness World Records has officially recognized Baci’s latest accomplishment.
As Nigeria celebrates this culinary triumph, Baci’s success continues to inspire a new generation, proving that determination and cultural pride can leave a lasting mark on the global stage.
