By JOHN MKOM, Jalingo –
Following the perfected plans by Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas to defect from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), the state chairman of the APC, Ibrahim El-Suldi, has disclosed that the state’s government house his party has been yearning for 13 years ago has been granted by God without going to polls.
El-Suldi stated this while speaking with NATIONAL ACCORD correspondent on Friday in his office over the planned defection of Governor Kefas.
El-Suldi confirmed that the governor’s switch from PDP to APC is no longer a rumor, but a done deal. President Bola Tinubu has finalized the move, and it’s been handed over to the APC national chairman.
He said the party stakeholders in Taraba State will officially ratify it on November 4th, 2025, in Jalingo.

The chairman assured party members and the people of the state that the governor’s defection will bring improved development, especially in infrastructure, once Kefas joins the “Progressive Governors”.
He said party leaders, stakeholders, and members are thrilled to welcome the governor to APC.
“We have been in touch one on one with the governor, he has indicated interest to the power that be, from the president to the national chairman and they have reached agreements and compromise, he has been told to contact the APC at the grassroots which is APC in Taraba state.
“Very soon, particularly on the 4th of November, we shall converge in Jalingo to work on modalities to formerly receive him in our party.
“Obviously he is a seating Governor, he has done one or two things to his credit, for his remaining two years, we will ginger him to work hard as a progressive governor to develop Taraba state massively.
El-Suldi disclosed that as a democratic party, APC will not close his doors for other party members, who would want to contest for the governorship under platform of the party in the state.
