Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh and her former husband, Churchill Olakunle
Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has announced that she has reconciled with her former husband, Churchill Olakunle, bringing an end to more than a decade of public disputes and strained relations between the former couple.
The actress made the disclosure in an emotional message shared on social media, where she attributed the reconciliation to divine intervention, saying the restoration of peace, respect and understanding was not achieved by human effort but by God.
Describing the journey as one marked by pain, bitterness and broken communication, Dikeh said the situation, which once appeared impossible to repair, had been transformed by mercy and faith. She wrote:
“After ten long years of public battles, deep wounds, broken communication, bitterness, and pain, God stepped in. What looked ugly, impossible, and beyond repair has been touched by mercy. Peace has replaced chaos. Respect has returned where anger once lived.”
She further stressed that the reconciliation was spiritual rather than strategic, adding:
“This restoration is not by might, not by wisdom, not by strength—but by the Spirit of the Lord. When God moves, the human mind cannot comprehend the process. He softens hearts, silences the enemy, and rewrites stories that looked finished.”
Tonto Dikeh expressed gratitude to Churchill, whom she referred to as the father of her child, for choosing peace, noting that humility and obedience played a key role in the healing process.
She said:
“I am deeply grateful to the father of my child Dr Kunle for yielding to God’s word and choosing peace. Obedience to God always births restoration, even when the road has been long and painful.”
Encouraging others facing similar struggles not to give up, the actress added:
“To anyone standing where I once stood, tired, wounded, misunderstood, and believing nothing good can come out of the situation, please hear this: God has not abandoned you. Your story is not over. What He has started, He will surely perfect… If God did it for us, He can do it for you.”
