The arrested suspect and Rihanna
In the latest development following the shooting outside the Los Angeles residence of global music star Rihanna, a suspect has now been charged with attempted murder.
The charge comes days after gunshots were reported outside the singer’s home, an incident that drew widespread attention online.
Prosecutors said the suspect fired several rounds toward the property while people were inside the house, according to Sky News reports.
Rihanna was reportedly home at the time with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, alongside family members and staff.
No injuries were reported, though some of the bullets are believed to have struck parts of the property, including the front gate.
Police later arrested the woman and prosecutors have now filed multiple charges.
They include one count of attempted murder, several assault counts involving a semiautomatic firearm, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
Investigators are still working to determine what may have led to the shooting. Officials say it remains unclear whether the suspect had any personal connection to Rihanna.
