President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Lagos after concluding a three-nation diplomatic and economic tour of France, Kenya and Rwanda aimed at deepening Nigeria’s international partnerships.
In a statement issued on Friday, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said the President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at about 7:12 p.m. and was received by top government officials, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Femi Hamzat, Femi Gbajabiamila and Mudashiru Obasa.
During his stay in France, President Tinubu met with international investors and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline and ongoing economic reforms.
The President later travelled to Nairobi, where he attended the Africa Forward Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, calling for reforms in the global financial system and stronger regional economic integration for Africa.
He also highlighted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to share the country’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with interested Gulf of Guinea nations, while holding bilateral talks with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.
In Kigali, Rwanda, Tinubu joined other African leaders and investors at the Africa CEO Forum, where discussions focused on regional integration, cross-border investment and strategies for accelerating economic growth across the continent, including meetings with Paul Kagame and representatives of multinational organisations.
While in Lagos, the President is expected to participate in the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries scheduled for Saturday, after earlier urging party members and aspirants to “keep the peace and be ready to play as sportsmen and women in the overall interest of the party and our country.”
