The Eid-el-Fitri congregational prayers were peacefully observed in Maiduguri, The Borno State’s capital, led by the Chief Imam idaini of Borno, Sheikh Ibrahim Laisu at the Ramat Square, NATIONAL ACCORD reports.
In attendence at the congregational prayers, were The Acting Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, The Shehu of Borno, HRH, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Umar El Kanemi, the Senator representing Borno Central at the National Assembly, Senator Kashim Shettima.


Others, were former Deputy Governor, Hon. Usman Durkwa, Borno State House of Assembly members, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Professor Isa Marte, Hon. State Commissioners and Special Advisers to the Governor and Deputy as well as other top government functionaries, politicians and traditional rulers among others .
In his Eid-el-Fitri message, The Acting Governor after the prayers, thanked the people of the state and the security personnels for providing peaceful atmosphere during the sallah festival through out the state.

He congratulated all Muslims Ummah for the successful completion of Ramadan fast and wish all a happy sallah celebration.
Hon. Kadafur, however, reiterated the State’s Government determination to move the state forward, while appealing for unity, understanding and support with prayers for peace to reign in the state.
He also reminded the general public that the resurgence of COVID-19 in some part of the country has been detected. Therefore, there is the need for people to observe all the covid 19 protocols especially the use of face marks, social distancing and frequent hand washing during Eid el Fitri congregational prayers.
On his part, The Chief Imam Idaini, prayed for lasting peace in the state and leaders in the country while urging the Muslims to continue to observe special prayers for peace and stability of the state .
