
Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour,
African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos State has hailed the 2023 Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, as a steadfast advocate for the people following his recent switch to the ADC.
In an exclusive interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, the Lagos ADC Chairman, Mr. George Ashiru, praised Rhodes-Vivour’s move. NAN reported that Rhodes-Vivour officially left the Labour Party for the ADC on Saturday.
Ashiru expressed enthusiasm about the defection, stating, “Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has proven himself a true champion of the electorate, from his days as a youthful Lagos West Senatorial candidate in 2019 to carrying the Labour Party’s flag as its gubernatorial candidate in 2023.” He described the move as a positive step, adding, “We are thrilled to welcome him into our fold.”
The ADC chairman emphasized the patriotic nature of Rhodes-Vivour’s decision, noting, “His alignment with the ADC, the hub of Nigeria’s patriots and resilient citizens, is a commendable act of dedication to the people.”
Ashiru further extended an invitation to others who share similar values, saying, “We warmly welcome him and open our arms to like-minded individuals and the broader electorate.”
Ashiru revealed that Rhodes-Vivour’s defection brought along numerous members of the Lagos Labour Party chapter, strengthening the ADC’s position. He stated, “With this move, the ADC is building a stronger, more credible opposition to offer Nigerians a better alternative.” (NAN)
