
Management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced the dismissal of 800 employees as part of an ongoing restructuring exercise aimed at enhancing service delivery and operational performance.
In a statement released on its official website in Abuja on Friday, the company explained that the move aligns with its corporate transformation strategy, designed to make AEDC more agile, innovative, and customer-focused.
> “As part of the transformation, we have promoted high-performing staff, released retiring employees and those performing below par,” the statement read.
The company added that it has initiated a comprehensive employee development and customer management plan to strengthen its customer-first approach.
> “The company is committed to providing reliable, safe, and sustainable electricity to its customers across all its service areas, while supporting the growth and development of Nigeria’s energy sector,” it stated.
AEDC emphasized that the restructuring process is a strategic step toward improving efficiency and delivering better value to its customers.
