The immediate past Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has mourned Chief (Lady) Monica Ali, wife of Senator Francis Alimikhena, whose passing occurred on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Agba, in a Letter of Heartfelt Condolence and Sympathy to Senator Alimikhena, dated August 31, 2023, said the passing of Lady Monica had left him deeply shocked and saddened.

“I trust this letter finds you amidst the support and strength of loved ones during this incredibly challenging time.
“It is with profound sorrow that I received the news of the untimely passing of your beloved wife, Chief Lady Monica Alimikhena, Iyi-Iyase of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom. The news of her departure on Thursday, August 31, 2023, has left me deeply shocked and saddened.
“The death of any man diminishes, let alone, the passing of one’s better half. My sister Monica was a good woman who showed understanding and compassion while playing her role as wife who stood solidly behind you and as a worthy mother in the Alimikhena household.
“In the face of such a loss, mere words seem inadequate to express the magnitude of grief that accompanies the passing of a cherished partner. I can only imagine that the depth of your feelings and the extent of your devastation are beyond my comprehension.
“The weight of this heartbreak and the magnitude of this loss are certainly not yours alone to bear. In this time, Catherine and I stand beside you, sharing in your pains, my dear brother. Your sorrow is felt deeply within our hearts as well.
“I fervently pray that the Almighty God, in His boundless compassion, grants you and the children the unwavering strength needed to carry the weight of this irreparable loss. May His grace be a guiding light as you navigate through this profound period of grief.
