Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has extended warm congratulations to the women of Benue State on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Governor Alia, in a statement issued by his Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, said the governor was celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in Benue State and around the world.
He acknowledged their invaluable role in shaping society, the economy, and culture.
Governor Alia also recognised their tireless efforts, sacrifices, and dedication to family, community, and nation-building as truly inspiring.
The governor reaffirmed the state’s commitment to empowering women through initiatives like Alia Cares, which has benefited over 5,000 women across 23 local government areas.
He said: “The state’s 2026 budget includes significant allocations for women’s empowerment programmes, focusing on financial inclusion, skills acquisition, and social protection.”
According to him, “We see you, we appreciate you, and we are committed to creating an enabling environment for you to thrive.
“Your contributions are invaluable, and we will continue to support and empower you.”
