Anambra State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has established its campaign team in preparation for the November 18 gubernatorial election.
The 23-member council, consisting of 19 men and four women from various coalition parties, was officially launched at the ADC Secretariat in Awka on Friday.
The ADC gubernatorial candidate, Mr. John Nwosu, who officiated the launch, announced that the campaign would commence on August 9.
Nwosu described the council, led by Mr. Ike Iwenofu, as composed of individuals with strong integrity.
He encouraged the team to focus on collaboration to secure victory in the upcoming election.
“We must steer clear of rumors, build trust, and resolve conflicts peacefully within appropriate channels,” Nwosu stated.
He emphasized the urgency of grassroots efforts, noting the limited time remaining.
As a technology expert, Nwosu urged the council to familiarize themselves with the ADC manifesto, which focuses on seven key areas: security, health, education, economy, environment, market, and social welfare.
He highlighted that a recent tour of the Local Government Areas revealed major challenges, including high housing costs, insecurity, and excessive taxation.
Nwosu pledged to tackle these issues if elected.
Speaking on behalf of the council, Iwenofu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and vowed that the team would work with dedication, loyalty, and diligence.
He encouraged members to focus on issue-based campaigns and noted that technology would be utilized to enhance campaign efforts.
