Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly stated that the party remains undeterred by political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued on Friday, APC Lagos Spokesman Seye Oladejo responded to recent comments by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who claimed the APC and the Federal Government were more focused on politicking than governance.
Oladejo dismissed the governor’s remarks as “a misguided outburst from a frustrated opposition figure.”
“President Bola Tinubu and the APC are steadfastly committed to our governance priorities, driving transformative reforms in the economy, security, infrastructure, and institutional growth,” Oladejo declared.
He emphasized that the administration is tackling Nigeria’s challenges head-on, while accusing some opposition leaders of “resorting to media theatrics and chasing illusions.”
Oladejo pointed to Lagos as a model of APC’s governance success, urging Mohammed to emulate its “consistent, visionary, and people-oriented leadership.”
He added, “Governance is about delivering tangible results, not issuing press statements. The APC is not swayed by 2027 politicking—our track record will speak for us when the time comes.”
While acknowledging the opposition’s right to voice their opinions, Oladejo called Mohammed’s remarks “ironic and unfortunate.”
He advised the governor to focus on addressing Bauchi State’s developmental challenges rather than launching “unfounded attacks” on the APC and the Federal Government.
