By EMMANUEL KUJE, Abuja-
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has unveiled the final 23-man roster for the Super Eagles, featuring captain William Troost-Ekong and forward Victor Osimhen, as they gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
According to the NFF’s announcement on Friday in Abuja, the squad blends seasoned players and emerging talents.
The midfield is anchored by the likes of Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika, and Wilfred Ndidi, with the attacking line bolstered by Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Cyriel Dessers, and Moses Simon.
“The selection reflects a balance of experience and fresh energy,” an NFF spokesperson noted.
In goal, Stanley Nwabali returns, backed by defenders such as Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Bright Osayi-Samuel. Greece-based goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo also makes a comeback, joined by Unity Cup standouts Felix Agu and Benjamin Fredericks.
Forwards Christantus Uche and Tolu Arokodare earned their spots following impressive showings in a June friendly against Russia in Moscow.
The Super Eagles will take on Rwanda on September 6 at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo for their Matchday 7 clash, before heading to Bloemfontein to face South Africa on September 9 for Matchday 8.
