
Late Alhaji Aminu Dantata

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi have paid tribute to Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a renowned businessman and philanthropist who passed away at 94.
Atiku in his condolence message, described Dantata as “a patriarch of industry, philanthropy, and public virtue” whose passing marks the end of an era.
“The passing of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a patriarch of industry, philanthropy, and public virtue, marks the end of an era and the loss of one of the last great custodians of Nigeria’s moral and entrepreneurial heritage,” Atiku said.
Atiku praised Dantata’s business acumen and philanthropic efforts, saying, “Alhaji Dantata was not merely a business icon; he was a conscience of his generation.
“Through quiet philanthropy, principled leadership, and an unshakable commitment to the upliftment of society, he etched his name into the soul of our nation.”
Obi also paid tribute to Dantata, saying, “I wish to most sincerely send my heartfelt condolences to the esteemed Dantata family on the passing of the revered patriarch and statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata at the graceful age of 94.”
Obi praised Dantata’s legacy, saying, “Alhaji Dantata’s legacy stretches across generations, industries, and communities.
“His humility, compassion, and simplicity, even in vast wealth, are virtues worth emulating. He uplifted not just Nigeria’s economy but the Nigerian people through his wisdom in commerce and his philanthropy.”
Both leaders prayed for Allah to grant Dantata Aljannatul Firdaus. Atiku said, “May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, multiply his rewards, and grant him eternal repose in Aljannatul Firdaus.”
Obi prayed, “May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.”
