Ayade appoints new commissioners, seeks confirmation by C’River Assembly

The Cross River State House of Assembly has received a request from Governor, Ben Ayade for the consequential confirmation of nominees to be appointed as commissioners in the State Public service.

The appointment follows the vacuum created by the resignation of some commissioners when the governor defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The governor’s request which was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Tina Banku Agbor indicated that it was in exercise of the powers conferred on the governor by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

The nominees included: Dr Janet Ekpenyong, Mrs. Ekwele Agube, Prince Sunday Williams Awara, Hon. Wogor Umari, Dr. Hippolytus Lukpata and Mr. Patrick Ebam.

Others are; Okama Inyang, Dr. Denet Eyo Nsing, Hon. Godwin Etta, Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet and Ntufam Ekpenyong Effiong Iso.

The House, after deliberating on the request, referred it to the Committee on Judiciary Public Service Matters and Conflict Resolution for further legislative action.
