
Barcelona tore Newcastle United apart 7-2 at Camp Nou to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
It was a night that brought back memories of Hansi Flick’s 8-2 Bayern win over Barcelona in 2020.
Raphinha put Barcelona ahead in the 8th minute after Newcastle messed up at the back.
Anthony Elanga scored in the 18th and 27th minutes to briefly put the visitors ahead. It looked like they could make a game of it.
Barcelona pulled level in the 34th minute, then just before halftime a long VAR review gave them a penalty.
Lamine Yamal slotted it calmly to make it 3-2. That changed everything.
After the break, Barcelona were ruthless. Fermín López made it 4-2 in the 52nd minute.
Robert Lewandowski scored twice in the 61st and 68th minutes. Raphinha finished his brace in the 75th.
The second half was all Barcelona.
Newcastle couldn’t keep up. Spaces opened, mistakes came, and Barcelona punished them at every chance.
In the end, Barcelona march on. Newcastle leave with a heavy defeat and plenty to think about.
