Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes has been named Premier League Player of the Week after his latest outing for Manchester United in Matchweek 30.
The United captain set up two goals in the win, another reminder of how involved he’s been in almost everything good about his side going forward. It wasn’t overly flashy, just one of those games where he kept things ticking and delivered when it counted.
The award was decided by fans on the Premier League’s official platforms, with Fernandes coming out on top.
He now has 16 assists this season, quietly building a strong case as one of the league’s most consistent creators. That number also puts him within reach of the single-season record of 20 assists, set by Thierry Henry and later matched by Kevin De Bruyne.
To go past it, he’ll need at least five more before the season wraps up. It’s a big ask, but not completely out of sight if he keeps this run going.
This is also his fifth Player of the Week award this season; more than anyone else so far, and it says a lot about how often he’s been at the centre of things for United.
For Manchester United, it’s the kind of form they’ll hope continues, especially with the business end of the season already taking shape.
